Emma completed her first year of school! Time flies, and no matter what you do to hold on to it, it's impossible, it's like trying to catch air.
I never thought I'd be ready for her to go to school, and I never thought she was ready to go to school, I couldn't imagine her being ready to spend 2.5 hours a day away from me, depending on herself and others to satisfy her needs and wants. Lo and behold she did it and she did it perfectly. Out of 184 days of school, she was only absent 3 times. That included Gabby being born, she did not miss school until she got sick in May. We were very lucky and blessed.
She walked into those doors at school in September and never looked back. She didn't like the weekends because she couldn't go to school. The projects she made, the books she read, the letters she learned to write are countless. Her drawings and handwriting have changed incredibly. She knows several of the 50 states, she knows who our President is, she knows who George Washington is, she can spell several words and can read her letters and numbers. She even knows what vowels are!
I am so lucky to have made friends also. I have grown as she has grown. I learned to accept and ask for help. I was blessed with making friends with three wonderful other moms whom have become such important women to me.
